Which Version Do You Need?
Because these gearboxes have several variations, please review the product gallery images carefully and note the following before ordering:
- R154 Styles: We now manufacture variants for both the early “Supra” style and the later “Tripod” style R154 gearboxes. Ensure you select the correct version for your specific transmission.
- Aisin AR5: We have recently added AR5 compatibility, but please note this kit is specifically designed for the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky versions of the AR5 only.
- Mounting Position: In all configurations, this sequential shifter mounts directly to the gearbox housing. It does not sit back on an extended factory bracket. Please verify this forward mounting position suits your custom chassis needs before ordering.

Available Shifter Options & Upgrades
Customise your setup to fit your exact interior and data-logging needs:
- Gear Position Sensor: Outputs a 0-5V analogue signal. Essential for aftermarket ECUs or digital dashes, and can be used for gear-based boost control.
- Digital Gear Indicator: A sleek dash display showing your current gear (supplied together with the position sensor when ordered as the gear indicator and sensor option)
- Shifter Surround: Neatly seals the shifter and the transmission tunnel opening to keep track noise and exhaust fumes out of the cabin.
- Direct High Lever: Mounts directly to the shifter, providing a tall shift position while using internal linkages to preserve the short throw.
- High Linkage Lever: Moves the lever further forward or backward while providing a high mount and maintaining a short throw. Ideal for custom race car driving positions.
Fitment & Installation Notes
All of our direct-mount shifters are designed to fit the gearbox, not a specific car chassis. Because this shifter mounts directly to the R154/AR5 housing, you will likely need to trim your transmission tunnel to clear the new mechanism. We highly recommend adding the Shifter Surround option to seal this modification cleanly.
