This shifter will convert your standard H-pattern gearbox to sequential operation with a simple bolt fitting for repeatable quick shifts. This product has been designed for easy instaliation for anyone with basic mechanical skills. Get the next gear every time! It’s not possible to get the wrong gear with this shifter. No more accidental 2-5 shifts costing races or 5-2 costing engines.

Our sequential shifter does not work by forcing the gearbox into gear and will actually apply less force to the internals than a standard shifter and far less miss shifts will drastically reduce gearbox wear. The shifter has been specifically designed for use with synchro gearboxes and the loads encountered under hard driving, you will not break this shifter!
The shift speeds are improved purely through the greatly improved usability for the driver. The simple pull back to up shift and push forwards to down shift is much easier to coordinate all movements under racing loads than the H-pattern shift. We have also optimised the design for the best driver feedback possible we do not add any rubber joints to give the driver a smoother feeling as in the performance application we would call that a vague shift

What is included?

The basic kit includes everything you need to convert your gearbox to sequential shift including the shift knob but we do have some options :

  •  The gear indicator and sensor can be used to display what gear you are in.
  • The position sensor on its own can be used to display gear on many aftermarket displays)
  • Offset lever can be used to move the shift lever backwards or forwards this is recomended for vx-vz commodores
  • Shifter surround will help keep noise and fumes out of the car around the shifter opening.
  • The high linkage lever will give you a high mount lever  while maintaining the short thow and can move the lever backwards or forwards. This is mostly used for race cars and when the lever position needs to be moved further than about 70mm

Which gearboxes will this version fit?

  • This version is to suit the after market Magnum gearbox with the large 6 bolt shifter mounting flange, the Magnum XL (original Magnum box) with the extended housing and 4 bolts shifter (Ford upgrade) mount or the Magnum F (4th gen Camaro/Commodore upgrade). Please select the correct version in the drop down box. If you are unsure which version of the sequential shifter you need please contact us and we will help work that out. Keep in mind that all shifters fit gearboxes and not specific cars you may need to modify transmission tunnel to suit.
*Magnum xl gearbox will need a small modification to the gearbox for fitment.

 

Instructions

Downloaded as a pdf Magnum instructions. 

All direct mount shifters are design to fit the gearbox and not a specific car, with direct mount shifters most require some trimming of the transmission tunnel and we have the “shifter surround” part available to seal this back up. In most cars the shifter will clear the interior trims and look neat once installed, if you can’t find a picture of a shifter installed in your model of car send us a message.

    My only issue is on the 5 aluminum rectangular spacers. The directions call out 4 of one type and 1 of another type. I take it you have changed some components after the documentation was printed and did not include an addendum to clarify the parts. Please advise.

    Quality engineered piece for sure. However on my application I had to machine the adapter plate so that the cam on the shifter wouldn’t hit. First and second were smooth, but going to third it bound up. After some investigating we noticed where it was hitting. After machining, the shifter worked smoothly.
    Also the reverse lockout plate needed to be sanded around the big end, because it would not sit flush when tightened.

    Overall, I’m happy with the purchase and equipment. And would buy it again.

    Just received it from DHL .. I ordered it from Simon who was really helpful in making me understand Everything .. very nice guy .. keep up the good products and amazing service ..
    P.S: i ordered it from overseas and it only took 6 days to reach me .. i was afraid because of the whole COVID -19 world issue but DHL was fast .. this parts will be installed in my single turbo mustang on a T56 Magnum XL transmission ..
