⚠️ T56 Fitment Guide (Please Read)
This specific shifter is designed exclusively for early GM Tremec and Borg-Warner T56 transmissions. This version fits:

VT – VZ Holden Commodore (T56 only)
-
4th Gen Chevrolet Camaro / Pontiac Firebird
-
Holden Monaro / Pontiac GTO
This version does NOT fit:

Ford or Dodge Viper T56 gearboxes.

Late-model VE/VF Commodores or 5th/6th Gen Camaros (Please see our TR-6060 listing).

Tremec Magnum or Magnum F (Please see our Tremec Magnum listing).

The core kit includes the main shifter unit, shift knob, and everything required to physically convert your gearbox to sequential operation.

Gear Position Sensor: Outputs a 0-5V analogue signal. Essential for aftermarket ECUs or digital dashes, and can be used for gear-based boost control.

Digital Gear Indicator: A sleek dash display showing your current gear (Note: The required position sensor is now included in the price of this indicator; no need to buy both).

Shifter Surround: Neatly seals the shifter and the transmission tunnel opening to keep track noise and exhaust fumes out of the cabin.

Offset Lever: Moves the shift lever forward or backward. A must-have for Dodge Vipers and Holden Commodores.

Direct High Lever: Mounts directly to the shifter, providing a tall shift position while using internal linkages to preserve the short throw.

High Linkage Lever: Moves the lever further forward or backward while providing a high mount and maintaining a short throw. Ideal for custom race car driving positions.
Crucial Ordering Guide: Right vs. Left Lever
Please read carefully before selecting. Do not choose a Left Lever simply because your car is Left-Hand Drive. The correct choice depends entirely on your specific transmission tunnel clearance.

Right Lever (Standard Choice): Offset 12mm (1/2 inch) to the right. This positions the shifter as centrally as possible. Almost all Japanese, Australian, and general custom builds require the Right Lever.

Left Lever (Specialty Choice): Offset 48mm (2 inches) to the left. This is a severe offset typically only required for 4th Gen Camaros, Dodge Vipers, and a few specific older chassis.
Fitment & Installation Notes
All of our direct-mount shifters are designed to fit the gearbox, not a specific car chassis. You will likely need to trim your transmission tunnel to clear the new mechanism. We highly recommend adding the Shifter Surround option to seal this modification cleanly.
In most custom-swapped vehicles, the shifter will clear the interior trims and look factory-clean once installed. If you are unsure what a finished installation looks like in your chassis, send us a message!

Very easy instruction to read. Found it quite easy to install. Had a little issue going in and out of 2nd gear but gearbox was on the ground and not stable. Quick call to the boss man and figure it’s probably gears not linking up properly. Attached gearbox to engine and with the extra weight and stability it shifts fine. Have not put into my car yet so will have to see how it lines up in a Vs ute
