Ford Toploader 4-Speed Sequential Shifter

Convert your classic Ford Toploader 4-speed into a lightning-fast sequential gearbox. Engineered for precision and straight-line performance, this complete kit replaces your standard H-pattern with a direct push/pull operation, giving you reliable, miss-free shifting when it counts.

⚠️ Crucial Fitment Warning (Please Read)

This shifter does not fit all Ford Toploaders. It is engineered specifically to mount to the C7OR-7A040-A tail housing. Please verify your tail housing casting number and compare it to the product photos before ordering.

We believe this housing is typically found in the following 14-inch length (28 and 31 spline) applications:

  • 1967+ Fairlane, Cyclone (427, 428)

  • 1968–1969 Mustang (428, 429)

  • 1966–1968 Fairlane, Cyclone, Ranchero, Torino (289, 302, 390)

  • 1966–1969 Falcon (289, 302)

  • 1966–1969 Mustang, Cougar (390)

Performance Benefits & Shift Operation

This shifter utilizes a dedicated 1-2-3-4 pattern with a true neutral available between every gear, offering distinct advantages for drag racing and heavy track use:

  • Easy Roll-Outs: You can easily bump the shifter out of 4th gear directly into neutral to coast smoothly after a high-speed run.

  • Downshift Protection: The mechanism makes it physically impossible to accidentally drop into neutral when aggressively downshifting into 1st gear.

  • Independent Reverse Lever: To keep the primary sequential mechanism as robust, simple, and reliable as possible, reverse is selected using a dedicated secondary lever.

  • Short Throw Action: Fast, crisp gear changes with a tight 70mm (2.75″) throw.
